Success at IIDA Idea Contest

Disclaimer: We found out about an idea contest called IIDA Idea Contest at the end of February and attended the service idea category slightly before the first blog post. We were pretty confident about the idea itself but had no idea what kind of ideas the judge was looking for.

About the contest in general: "IIDA is an idea contest for students, researchers and employees at Tampere University , Tampere University of Technology, Tampere Polytechnic, and Pirkanmaa Polytechnic."

No more, no less... That's the contest we WON! And we're pretty darn proud about it! This was the final seal to prove us that LineTicks has some major potential to become a huge success. From hereon we'll start prototyping LineTicks and attend the pre-incubator provided by Hermia Business Development.

The IIDA award ceremony itself was very positive. The best thing aside from the fact that we actually won the contest is that we had an opportunity to meet some really friendly and interesting people. Just to mention a few, we met guys from DiCode, Universomo and Novaloc (Hermia Business Development too, bien sûr).

I'm feeling really positive about all of this and I know that Pekka and Petri share the feeling. We're going to have an interesting journey ahead of us and we're soooo keen to find out where it leads.

Get Ready for LineTicks

So this is the LineTicks blog, Welcome! We'll be writing about things that we find interesting and we'll be reporting the journey of LineTicks from idea to a (hopefully) widely known web application.

The LineTicks team is really into the newest technologies and methodologies, trying to find the best of breed, and to apply those to make the best out of LineTicks. I wish that you all will give the comments/feedback/whatever you can to help us to help you.

To give you some foretaste of what's to become, here are some buzz words related to LineTicks: Ruby (possibly Rails, more likely Merb), Agile development, Getting Real, Ajax, Flash, productivity. Might sound a bit boring, but the result breeding from those won't be!

We'll be presenting ourselves better later on. For now, we're the three guys who've come up with few ideas and of those, chose the one which will revolutionize your way of using the Web ;)
